Since I am more into the “act of painting” than the actual image, I could potentially never be finished with a painting. I could just keep going, adding colors and brush strokes, changing the warmth or coolness, adding depth or not, etc. My pointillism allows me the option of painting over again and again. So, really, how do I decide when a painting is complete? I know I’m close when I start visualizing my next painting.
