Open Art Studio For Lost Dutchman Days

February 2009

Denise Landis, a local artist in Apache Junction, will be hosting her Second Annual Open Studio Sale during Lost Dutchman Days on Friday through Sunday, February 27th – Mar 1st.  Denise’s art is a lively mixture of acrylic paintings in a modified pointillism style.  “My work is typically figurative in nature and most paintings are based on personal photographs or those from others who commission me to paint for them.”  Her colors are bright and eye-catching which make her paintings appealing to a wide range of art collectors.

The practice of pointillism is very different from most common methods of blending pigments on a palette.   Contrasting colors make subtle changes that form images as Denise dots or dabs her brush on the canvas.  “I use various marks with my brushes, such as strokes of irregular dots, perfect circular marks, or rectangular shapes to create my images.”  Denise’s acrylic paintings include portraits, landscapes, or objects of interest from “our incredible desert!”   Most of her paintings are also available in Giclee’ print form and greeting cards, expertly printed on heavy watercolor paper.

Denise will be taking orders for 2009 commissioned paintings and portraits during the art show and sale; however, many  Landisworks original artworks and prints will be for sale during the open studio.  “By having my studio open, it gives potential customers a chance to meet me and see me working on current projects.  It’s a relaxed atmosphere and questions are welcomed.  Come spend some time with me!”   Customers can see samples of her works so that they can best imagine her styles used for their own future commissioned pieces. The public is welcome.   Latest artworks are available for viewing at www.landisworks.com

Denise Landis is also an avid “jewelry designer” and will have jewelry and art related gift baskets on sale.   These make great gifts for both men and women for birthday celebrations, anniversaries, and special events.  The studio sale is located at 643 E. McDowell Blvd. north of the fairgrounds & rodeo arena.   “Landisworks Jewelry Sale” directional signs will be located from the fairground turn-off at Lost Dutchman and Idaho Roads.   You may contact Denise Landis at 480-205-8436 for more information about her upcoming sale event.
